While I have my own criticisms of ‘Normal People’ by Sally Rooney, one thing I liked was the realness of a high school/university aged relationship where there are ebbs and flows of two people coming and going together.

This… while I can see their friendship dynamic, it’s hard for me to believe that they could remain friends.

Okay, another little update before I get back to cleaning 😂 just in case there are potential spoilers, DART YOUR EYES AWAY NOW!!!

I wasn’t expecting Sadie and Marx to get together… regardless, it doesn’t change the fact that they’re unlikeable in their own ways. But I don’t know why they couldn’t focus on Sam and Sadie’s dynamic, similar to Connell and Marianne in Normal People /1

So I am disappointed in that aspect but maybe there will be something that will maybe change that?
I’ve also seen people say that they enjoy this book because of the process of them creating these video games… maybe I’m just not really a girl that enjoys learning about tech and creating it.
I am going to continue and finish it because I don’t want another first book club pick DNF 😭😂

My thoughts so far, I don’t care. None of the characters are likeable to me, especially Dov in the way he treats Sadie.
I’ve just been listening to this mindlessly while on my commutes everywhere. It’s not been a book where I’ve wanted to sit down and read more… /1
