Evelyn is a woman with great goals who is ready to do anything to achieve them. But the ways she achieves them are wrong, and she knows it. Personally, for me, she isn't an icon, nor an example of how powerful a woman is. She's a victim — a victim of the gold Hollywood cinematography era, and the way society takes women. She's an object in the middle of a scene, objectified as sexual and erotic.
