So far, the book is enjoyable and well written. That said, it’s fairly obvious it was written by a female author—the male character’s voice carries strong “female-written” vibes. His inner dialogue and emotional responses feel more reflective and expressive than what reads as authentically male. It doesn’t ruin the story, but it does break immersion at times.
