The violent bear it away. It is about a crazy old uncle who steals his grand nephew convinced he is to grow up to be a prophet. Brainwashes him in crazy religious fantics for 14 years. The story starts with the old man dead and the nephew Tarwater goes to search for his other kin Rayber who has a special needs son. The story then progress where he wants to baptize the boy but ends up drowning him instead.

Finished wise blood. 1⭐️ literally wtf did I just read. A literal fever dream of a book. Don’t try to understand what’s going on, you will end up with a headache and pissed off. F u Enoch Emery, never experienced a character that viscerally piss me off
On to the violent bears it away: 30 pages in and this is a much better book and well written and digestible plot. Expecting a 3-4⭐️ from this
