Haven’t gotten this close to not finishing a book in a long time

clarification on my last update: I don’t think a spouse can defend the other spouse for a murder without filing for permission or something like that (ethics) and the burden of proof is on the prosecutor to prove that the defendant did it, not on the defense attorney to find the person that did do it, I don’t know maybe that’s my understanding but what do I really know (I’m genuinely hoping this gets better)

I really wanted to like this but this is a struggle because I don’t know if the legal system works like this but what do I know over the author right?
