This is a very well written and researched book. A very scary look at how easily things can go wrong in a nuclear facility. It is also a good look at the soviet 'system' and how it contributed to the whole disaster.

the Chernobyl accident is horrific. But it could have been much worse you realise as you read this book. We are playing with forces that we barely understand even now. I would think if something similar happened elsewhere the 'clean up' would go just as badly as it did for the Russians. What radiation can do to you and the world around us is horrible beyond description.
