Well, it's certainly Thoreau's writing. It's often convoluted at times, stocked full of allusions, sarcasm, and long-winded anecdotes which can make it a difficult read. At any rate, Economy seems to describe how he'd prefer if people led more authentic, simplistic lives with less focus on materialism. On nearly every other page you can pull a quote that has profound and grandiose meaning, which is commendable.
