Ugh book #1 hooked me.
Book #2? In the last year, more often than not, the 2nd would lead to a DNF or the feeling of lackluster.
I blame SJM, Callie Hart & Keri Lake (primarily) for setting the bar so high.
So far caught magic systems holes, FMC soapbox of “he betrayed her & is never honest with her” after he spent weeks telling her verbatim what is her deal IDGI!! UGH where is her character development?!
