After the 9/11 incident Erica has not been feeling good as she started to think about Chris again. I'm not sure how Changez manage to be in a "relationship" with her because she only talks about her ex. Changez starts also thinking about his home country Pakistan a lot more after the incident. Is there going to be a war or no. He thinks about his life in NYC and compares it to living in a film about second world war.

As Changez came back to USA he saw the change in NYC. There was a lot of US flags in the city supporting the ones that died and also the whole country wanted to show support to New York. Changez went to see Erica fastly after he came to USA. They had much fun but Erica still keeps only talking about chris which annoys me as a reader a lot. If I were in Changes' boots I would leave Erica as she only talks about Chris.

After the first 60 pages I can see that Changez really likes Erica as in the pages 40 to 61 almost the only thing the book talks about is them together in NYC. I don't think that Erica is good for him tho because Erica talks a lot about her ex Chris. Changez really likes to work on Underwood Sampson though as he does good job and has found friends like Wainwright. I'm excited to read more and see what happens next.

After the first 40 pages I have gotten to know a lot more about characters such as Erica and wainwright. Erica was in Greece with Changez and they had great pond there and she promised to help changez settle in into New York. After this Greece trip part Erica does not get mentioned in the book. Wainwright is mentioned in the book by working in the same company with Changez and they hang out together after work.

Now when I have read the first twenty pages I have really liked it a lot. The main character Changez seems interesting. He is from pakistan but he has been in United States for school and he is a great student. Changez seems pretty weird, yes he is a great student and used to be a great soccer player but still. The job interview he went was also weird because Jim the interviewer asked personal questions from Changez.
