Notes:
(1) "I hate it when fairies come into the bar. They don't tip you worth a toot—not because they're stingy, but because they just forget."
- I'll give them a break, they likely don't observe the custom in whatever dimension they're from.
- Frankly, the vast majority of cultures in our own dimension neither tip nor expect tips. Could be Claudine lived a while in Scandinavia or East Asia?

Introduction:
(1) Goodreads really needs to take into account front matter (Roman-numeral) pagination for progress updates.
- Just going by the official page numbers, it looks like I haven't read anything at all!
(2) Correction: "A Touch of Dead" makes up a third of this, not half as I stated before.
- My mistake was comparing the page count for each book, not accounting for font differences.

Notes:
(1) My first time through the series, I read "A Touch of Dead," subtitled "Sookie Stackhouse, The Complete Stories."
- Premature, it turns out, since that amounts to little-more-than half of what's in this "Complete Stories."
- I don't know why they didn't just come out with a "Part 2." Instead, now I have to re-read the "A Touch of Dead" stories for the third time—my current audiobook re-read included!

Jayson - Alternatively, they expect that people will be so lovestruck by their magical presence to care, or consider the air of good feeling tip enough—Sookie being part fairy, of course, isn't affected... much.
- My guess is that they're just playing dumb because they don't want to bother with the math—I hate calculating tips!
(2) "My small town of Bon Temps [is] barely big enough to have its own Wal-Mart..."
- That's actually pretty impressive. My big city only has one Wal-Mart, and a small one at that.
(3) "I'm used to being up at night ... I had dated Bill for a long time."
- Actually, in book chronology, it was probably only for a few months, half a year at a stretch.
- I guess it's long for a person whose never had a boyfriend.
(4) Jeff: "Wasn't till I went back in the booth that I seen the glittery stuff."
Sookie: "What glittery stuff?"
Claude: "What we leave when we fade ... Fairy dust."
- Interestingly, vampires similarly become dust when they die, though more like ash and more so flaking away gradually.
- Additionally, it seems like fairies can also glamor people like vampires... or at least Claudine can.
(5) "Jeff didn't say anything. He didn't realize his lover was a fairy. I worry about the human race."
- Oh, I'm sure Jeff was well aware Claude was a fairy... just not the literal sort.
(6) Sookie plays detective here, culminating in sort of an Agatha Christie style where everyone's gathered together for the big reveal.
- Except that Sookie's sorting it all out on the fly.
(7) In sum: a solid, if unremarkable, cozy murder mystery—to the extent a story about strippers and crotch-shaving can be cozy.
- It's more notable for all the strip club seediness—office romances and extracurricular activities.
