She is so male centric. Says she doesn’t want to serve men (when her mother suggests learning shorthand, she equates having a job to serving men), makes pseudo feminist statements all the time, tells Buddy she is never going to marry, yet imagines a life with every man she meets. Her hypocrisy and inconsistency drive me crazy.

Does she realize she’s fortunate to have a scholarship in the first place? That she is not entitled to having her needs met, and that most humans work out of necessity, not because they want to?
