To take from natural life and not expect to owe it anything in return is futile.

Very good. The first chapter delves into why our Earth is perceived as getting ruined by western beliefs of life. However, it’s doing what it’s been doing for eras, changing. I still don’t know carbon’s true purpose yet, but I’m excited to find out in the rest of the book.
