I actually really liked that scene but at the same time any horses are deeply unserious creatures to me so that kind of tainted the experience..

In a lot of ways the plot reminds me of Legendborn, even if the details and focus are quite different. I'm sure it'll elevate itself from the somewhat simple premise eventually, though I do wonder how much of this book will be going through the YA fantasy motions...

This is easy to read and it does indeed feel like I could find at least 3 things like this on ao3 so I shall live to see another day

The concept of this and babel happening roughly at the same time in the same country.... right... right...

This is what happens when you leave me alone at a bookstore when I'm very bored... I'm expecting this to entertain me like a fanfic would and if it doesn't I guess we're both gonna be disappointed in my life choices 😔
