You know this book is written by a man when a woman just said she can't help loving men because they are "so earnest, so true, and so brave!"

Interesting gender roles assigned, enjoying the coagulation of the mystery particularly Renfield's part in it although I hate the use of blatant exposition. I wonder how authors and critics came to the conclusion that show not tell is more intriguing when books like Dracula also get praised so highly despite the use of dialogue driven exposition.

Enjoying the parallels in Stoker's writing with that of Wilde's starting with the baby in the bag image and continuing with the idea of changing youth in death (Lucy looks younger in death such as Dorian Gray looks older and harrowed when the painting is finally destroyed and all the years attributed to the painting fall back on him).
