"Where are you going, ser?"
"To my bed, to sleep. I'm drunk as a dog."
"Be my dog, ser. The night's alive with promise. We can howl together and wake the very gods." oh it’s CRAZYYYYY

dunk truly does forget who he has for a squire sometimes and then he casually mentions he has a dragon’s egg just for himself and that they put it on his cradle when he was born and he’s flabbergasted

the sworn sword finished! i can’t possibly explain how crazy this story makes me. i want it injected into my veins, every bit of it. i love the suffocating setting of the summer during a drought. i love how much care is given to the post civil war context, and just how complex and tragic ser eustace is. but, above all, i love the romance between dunk & rohanne completely. i could cry like a wounded dog about it.

"Ser Duncan." She reached up and laid two fingers on his swollen lip. "Did I do this, ser?"
"No one else has slapped my face
of late, m'lady.” “That was bad of me. A breach of hospitality. My good septon has been scolding me.” 😩😩😩🙏🏻

can’t say i’m much of a blackfyre defender, but eustace osgrey shows such a complex and compelling side to the loser of a civil war and his story is just so tragic and beautifully portrayed… oh, george rr martin truly is a beast of a writer

rohanne webber tracing her fingers through dunk’s drawn tunic in his chest and round his heart and him thinking “i’ll bet she’s freckled all over” and wondering why his mouth is oddly dry while this happens and this is THE FIRST TIME THEY MEET. IN FRONT OF PEOPLE. oh their season will be sooooooo steamy and yearny

“"Some knights never name their horses," Dunk told him. "That way, when they die in battle, the grief is not so hard to bear. There are always more horses to be had, but it's hard to lose a faithful friend." Or so the old man said, but he never took his own counsel. He named every horse he ever owned. So had Dunk.”the sweetie that he is 🥰🥰🥰🥰

“The world made no sense when a great prince died so a hedge knight might live.”

"Poor Maekar."
"Poor?" said Dunk, startled. "The king's son?"
"The king's fourth son," said Raymun, "not quite as bold as Prince Baelor, nor as clever as Prince Aerys, nor as gentle as Prince Rhaegel.
And now he must suffer seeing his own sons overshadowed by his brother's." maekar, the failbrother icon that you are!
