Review of Everything That Rises Must Converge:
4/5 stars, I love how this short story is written. It’s very relatable to a young adult with more ‘radical social norms’ compared to their parents ‘old world’ Although this short story explores that notion to the extremes it is very well done and enticing.
I look forward to reading more of Flannery O’Connor in this collection

The Enduring Chill review 3.5/5 ⭐️
This story continues the themes of harsh irony, cynical intelligence, classism/racism. O’Connor does well with these themes, but reading so many of them in a row becomes repetitive. Also worth mentioning I believe this story was ‘unfinished’.
It grabbed me more than the last story, but not as much as the first few

A View of the Woods review: 3/5 ⭐️
This story was fun at first but definitely took an uncomfortable turn and a dark ending. This one didn’t grab me as much. I’m learning O’Connor has a theme of dark irony in her stories, however the point didn’t hit me as hard as previous stories. Left wondering why she wrote this one, and I’ll continue to ponder for the coming days

Review of Greenleaf 5/5 ⭐️
This story is very well done. I feel bad for Mrs. May, a poor bitter woman who is defined by her envy, jealousy, and pride. A classic depiction of someone who works so hard, but doesn’t enjoy life. I usually don’t buy into asking myself about symbolism in books, but this one forced me to ask: did O’Connor write the bull as some sort of symbolic embodiment, or literally? Answer TBA
