Ernest grew to dislike his mother for her staunch religious views and her criticizing of his friends. He stopped going to church around the time he first left home. Also it's interesting to see how his real life adventures were shown in his books and it makes me want to read a farewell to arms again. He talks about his time as an ambulance driver in Italy and also his romance with Agnes a nurse who broke his heart

Not mentioning the book per se, but Hemingway also said, the Earth is a fine place and Worth Fighting for. That was quoted in the movie seven which I recently finished

Hemingway was hard to say that Paris was his favorite city in entire world. He also bragged the deliberated one of the bars in France when Paris was liberated from Nazis

Hemingway got the title, a farewell to arms, from an old 1500 English poet. Also I didn't know this but his father also shot himself with a gun. And Ernest called that a cowardly act

Also in high school Ernest got in trouble for writing. He and his buddies started this thing called The jazz journal which basically consisted of a lot of dirty jokes.

Ernest once got punished for killing an innocent animal in the forest. He and his buddy were told to roast a porcupine and we're forced to eat it
