i like the classic "loved one comes back wrong after mysterious incident" plotline but im having a hard time resonating with the characters...

i distantly remember a review of this book by frankies shelf in which he said something along the lines that the book doesnt succeed in making you care for these characters, which i kinda agree with... that review plagues my mind with each page
