I've enjoyed police procedural/mysteries for a long time (just not always tracked on GR) - writers like Tana French, Jane Harper, Louise Penny. I love the logic of solving a crime and the team relationships. The Peter Grangier series is really good and not as gritty as some of the others. The interaction of the detectives and the location is really interesting. It reminds me of British detective shows like Inspector Morse, Inspector Lewis, Wallander, Inspector Lynley, etc.
