Lots of millennial humor. A little “who is this book targeted to?” bc no explanations of terms/slight disdain for cis people, but also preaching to the choir/acting like someone reading this book wouldn’t already believe that free gender expression is necessary, and that the audience needs to be convinced. Also don’t have a f*ck about the religious parts but I’m sure it works for somebody *shrug*

You have to pay a publisher just to mention the name of a book in your book? What the fuck?

Why is dressing as Mulan for Halloween insensitive? You’re not dressed as “A Chinese Person”, you’re dressed as a specific (fictional) character. As long as you don’t engage in racial stereotypes, is it still insensitive?

I understand that wearing someone else’s culture as a costume is insensitive. (Native American culture and Pocahontas especially because of all the misinformation about her real life and history.) Is this a hard and fast rule? I have seen kids dressed as Moana with seemingly no pushback. Is that not someone’s culture? (I assumed Moana was based on real islands’ cultures.)
