In “Carnegie’s Maid” we follow a girl named Clara Kelley, going to America. Once she arrives a man is waiting for her to take her to Pittsburgh. He must be talking about another Clara Kelley. She had to choose, “I could tell this man the truth. Or I could become that other Clara Kelley.”(Benedict 14). This book is really good. I predict throughout the book we will see her survive in this new life.

As we move more into the book we follow Clara as she adapts to the role of being a maid. The head maid is very strict and wants everything to be perfect. Additionally Clara starts to talk with Andrew Carnegie and is starting to fall for him, “For a moment, I felt like I belonged with him”(Benedict 112). What I predict will happen next is Clara will struggle with having feelings for Andrew due to her working for him.
