I'm a little over half way, and I can't explain what's wrong with this book. It's like a long string of robotic thought, where the author forgets that they've already said the same thing one page prior. The characters have no personality or voice. There's very little specificity, and words like "Social Media" and "Reality TV" are used instead of actual platforms or shows. Random back story will just appear mid-scene.
