Interesting, again a little repetitive. The book doesnt seem to trust i will remember things mentioned two pages earlier. It also feels like each chapter was written individually and stitched together by making references to each other. Events, objects, people, or timelines referenced are then explained in detail again, as if they hadn't been fully explained the first time they were discussed.

Sometimes a little repetitive, but mostly very interesting and written in a thought-provoking manner.

Example of repetition is found in a paragraph on p.24-25:
"So uniquitous was this sticky substance that it gave Ur its modern Arabic name 'Tell al-muqayyar' [...] and on its surface lay countless fragments of dried bitumen, inspiring the mound's modern name."
