ouuuuu drama. i like this, great dialogue. and i ADORE how assured our fmc is. compared to eden and the one from brutal truth, the younger fmc (Sienna) is firm in her values and very discerning. she still has that sunshine feel to her character but wow. i love her

@danielle, yes! i found Maddie sweet but i as frustrated with her naivety and compliance, both traits that Sienna doesn’t possess. she’s still firmly kindhearted and optimistic but grounded in a strong sense of justice and dignity which is refreshing. hope you enjoy !
It’s refreshing when a cinnamon roll (or the counterpart to an Ice Queen) isn’t passive, isn’t willing to absorb caustic (and, frankly, abusive) behavior in silence. Instead, they push back. Or do they? Now I wonder, how else would the ice ever melt? The brutal gauntlet one is expected to endure to “win” an Ice Queen is its own kind of tragedy to get to the trophey. A book I deeply appreciated that captures the dynamic I believe you experienced is Lee Winter’s Hotel Queens: fire meeting ice, not in submission, but in symmetry. An exquisite match. Equal force, equal resistance, a true push and pull. (I might have to use this in my review of this book if it holds true!)

I remember really enjoying certain parts of Hotel queens, particularly the characters. Winter's more unique dynamics tend to be my favourite (compared to the age gap ones, personally).
Really looking forward to what you think of this story. I also found refreshing and professional, even, how there weren't many uses of 'cheap' plot devices. I expected drama and scandal and there was some, but not in the way I would have thought. It was all beautifully tasteful and I really enjoyed that.
