Patrizia Caruzzo What do you think about this book?

Dury Richard Some of the frequent (and strange-looking) Calabrian words are immediately understandable, some only partly understandable (from the context, e.g. this word must mean something to eat) — but that's not a problem: I probably don't understand every single word in an English book, and we all had lots of practice as children living among unusual words.
But what strikes me most is the fascinating structure: the weaving together of the seven characters, first presented separately and then glimpsed in a series of moments and events in the same community. This, together with the repeated phrases, gives the book a kind of 'musical' quality of themes, variations, returns and developments.
And then there are the references to the wide universe and its laws—so really fascinating—thank you for the present!
(And I've just reached halfway and the unexpected death of Rorò—a bit of a shock like the death of one of the parallel lives in Auster's 5, 4, 3, 2, 1—so I'm sure the second half will be full of surprises.)

Patrizia Caruzzo Good,l'm glad you enjoy reading it.Please let me know what you think of it when you finish it.Enjoy!
