Nothing beats the romance of stargazing and for a little while I was transported to that moment with Vanessa, listening to Joan explain the night sky and imagining the light in her face and the utter intimacy of the moment. Gorgeous characterization here!

It’s so evil of Taylor Jenkins Reid to send us from a party where everyone is alive and the near future seems bright and hopeful only to send us crashing right back into that future where everyone most certainly is not alive and things do not look hopeful! Poor Donna and Helene - poor Joan!! I’m on the edge of my seat hoping Vanessa makes it home safely!

The meeting between Vanessa and Joan was really cute and I could immediately feel the tension between them. Still absolutely absorbed with the ASCAN training!

Only two chapters in and it’s absolutely gripping! It just immediately puts me in mind of Star Trek and the first two seasons of For All Mankind in all the best possible ways. I’m at once absolutely itching to keep reading while trying to keep my heartbeat steady - and I’m only 24 pages in!
