This was a charming book. Although I have already watched both the older and newer versions of the movies and read the children's version of the book as a young adult, this was on another level. The vocabulary challenged my reading level, the figurative language painted a lovely picture in my mind multiple times throughout the story, and the story itself brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes.
