I thought I would be able to keep up with this legal book because I (thought I) was familiar with the Enron scandal, but an entire chapter on it and Eisinger doesn't mention Bernie Madoff even once. So, it's literally this book is far too deep in the weeds but I'll give it a little longer.

Ok, this book has really got engaging. Honestly, maybe I should put it down though, as I've been so grumpy lately about the unwillingness of our public institutions to hold bad actors accountable. It's such an unsettling time. I'm actually glad we had to discuss the meaning of public service the other day, I'm still thinking about it both in an aspirational context and our unfortunate reality. I have to have hope.
