He's afraid of dying, he's afraid of not leaving a legacy that will be respected, he can't enjoy his own wealth and resources - much to think on.

For one thing, I'm glad a rich man finally is realizing that poor people have a bad lot in life. For another thing, it is painfully clear that he's coming from a place of privilege. I have mixed feelings about this.
