It’s a trip reading about Stalin’s Great Purge of potential opponents in the Soviet Union (100 years later).
Good book so far, and a reminder that instruments of the state are always subject to the vagaries of those in charge (a particularly fraught vocation when you work for a terror-inducing authoritarian like Stalin that sends agents door-to-door ripping people from their homes for secret trials).
