Monique has realized she always set herself short of what she deserves in this breakthrough with her confidence is freeing.

I feel partly one of the reasons Evelyn held on so strongly to the half of her heart attached to being famous was because of how hard she had to work to get there. This book for Evelyn is a way to set her soul free and show the world she knows who she was through all the good and lots of bad.

I like how Evelyn’s mindset of going after what you want and what you think you deserve is rubbing off on Monique. She’s becoming more confident and assertive.

Evelyn downplays the don’s darker side because the kindness he shows her at times feels so powerful that, in her mind, it compensates for his abusive behavior.

Evelyn knew what she had from a young age and was smart enough to realize that’s a way she will climb up the ladder. While she talks more about her childhood I feel sorry for her. Also when Monique brought up Evelyn’s true love maybe it is someone that is related to her.
