This book truly moved me. As someone who struggles with my relationship with my parents, I see myself in so much of Shari’s story even if my life isn’t public.
Her honesty makes me feel understood and less alone. More than anything, it gives me hope that I can break the cycle and build a healthier future.

So far I’m impressed at her wordings and descriptions as she tells her story. She has a way with words.

My heart goes out to this young girl. At such a formative age, she endured an extraordinary amount of hardship largely on her own. Situations often framed as “tough love” can, in reality, cross the line into emotional and psychological harm—especially when a child’s emotional needs are dismissed or minimized. The long-term impact parents can have on their children is frequently underestimated. In this case, it appears she was left to navigate serious personal struggles without adequate parental support, while external priorities, including fame, took precedence over her health and well-being. No child should feel isolated or unsupported during moments when guidance, compassion, and care are most needed.
