Debauchery continues. Mir Jafar is dethroned by a revolution by the EIC, Mir Qasim, and Jagat Seth. Shah Alam attacks Mir Qasim to take power, but is unsuccessful. Mir Qasim, by increasing taxation and smoothing administration, tries to put Bengal back on track. EIC is disobedient to the Nawab. Warrren Hastings is introduced. Tensions ignite between Mir Qasim and the EIC after just 3 years of dethroning Mir Jafar.

Siraj violently attacks Fort William, and upon hearing this news, Clive and Watson come to Calcutta from Madras. They take back Calcutta, fortify it again. Jagat Seth (banker) and Mir Jafar make a deal with Clive to kill Siraj. Clive wipes out Siraj and his men in Plassey in 1757. EIC takes a lot of wealth, as per the deal. Bengal has now been plundered to an extent that it cannot recover.

Roger Drake builds tensions with the then and now 'Nabobs' of Bengal.

They now give up the chase for spices and are planning to trade in textiles, fabrics, and chintzes from India.
