7 STORY ARCHETYPES: The main archetype in the book right now is overcoming the monster. The Bayview Crew is trying to beat Jake and get him back in jail. On page 41, it says, "Simon would still be here, probably, if Jake hadn't helped him, and maybe things would've changed for him. Why doesn't any of that matter all of a sudden?" This shows that they are still upset about what Jake did to them.

SUMMARY: The Bayview Crew are settling into their new lives when the main antagonist, Jake Riordan, returns home to cause trouble. "But Jake did. The guy who framed me and helped send me to juvenile detention... is getting a second chance." They will have to figure out how to deal with Jake throughout the rest of the book.
