INCITING INCIDENT: This is shown in the Old Major’s speech to the animals. “Man is the only real enemy we have. Remove Man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and overwork is abolished for ever” (Orwell 7). This makes them realize they are being treated unfairly and deserve a better life. This moment inspires them to think about taking control of the farm. It sets the main conflict and idea of the story.

ARCHETYPES: This story falls mostly in the rebirth category. This is because Napoleon, a controlling pig, decided to take over the farm for the animals. He then declares himself the leader along with the other pigs. "With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume the leadership" (Orwell 27-28). This shows Napoleon changed, but for the worst.
