INCITINGINCIDENT: The inciting INCIDENT started when Bill Simmons was an adult and got his job as the sports guy. He wanted to know what the secret is so he asked Isaiah Thomas at a pool. He said that it was about the connection of the players and the excitement. So Bill compared Wilt to Russel and found out Wilt wanted stats and Russel wanted his teammates to be better. Then he's finding the evolution of basketball.

ARCHETYPES: In this book the archetype is The Quest because it's not really a normal quest to find treasure. Bill's quest is to find questions/arguments that haven't been answered and to note the history of basketball throughout his life. Currently he is talking about his early life and how he got season tickets to see Larry Bird during Bird v. Magic era.
