does anyone else use other English speaking country's slang js in their daily speech? bc I will call someone "mate" without putting on a British or Australian accent bc I hate using "bro" and it takes away the ability for other ppl to tell me "i'M nOt Ur BrO" I will always call breakfast brekkie over text bc I'm lazy and call smth "the bees knees" unironically (friends hate me for that one, but its so funn)

Haha sometimes! I also use brekkie ALLLLL the time, my mom is either mum or Mumsy, and sometimes things are "jolly". But I frequently slip into a British accent especially when I'm trying to explain things 😂 and if I get nervous, I'm automatically going FULL-ON SOUTHERN even though no one I know has a Southern accent and I've lived in the West all my life 🤣

not the southern one 😭 I love listening to audiobooks narrated with a southern accent, it's rly comforting, for some reason
Yes i love a good Southern accent! Really any soft accent will get me - my favorite actor has the loveliest soft Bronx accent 🫠
i'll do australian sometimes and american on a near daily basis😭 and then i'm british so i do use british slang but not insanely often
I'll say "'reet'" for all right, or like "daft", "dodgy", "shite", "chuffed", "lad"... mind you I'm VERY southern and have a STRONG hillbilly accent lmfao
nah i js become a roadman tbf... or alex turner bc i say "bollocks" and other really british words so much its insane... and yes i am british... unsurprisingly

I knew a person who would always use lad and lass, it made sense, but the way he said them would always make me recoil, idk he gave me the creeps in general tho

As a Southerner I use lots of words and phrases the Rest of America doesn't really use. But as for other countries' slang? I don't think so... I do type words with British spellings sometimes though, lol (you can blame Jane Austen for that 🤣)I also use like, terms and words used more often throughout history than nowadays, too.
I love to talk in a British accent too. It's funny though because I'll usually end up doing a hard flip from a British accent to sounding like cornbread because people have no compassion for my poor nerves and I get aggravated with them, lol.
i repeatedly get told i have a very souther accent and just talk very southern but don’t really know what I say to be southern. or really where i got the southerness from.

if I first see it spelled a certain way, that's probably how I would spell it forever

(also was there a P&P ref there? 👀)
