I'm getting ready to read Staples' Paul & the Resurrection of Israel and was thinking about grabbing this one soon, as I hear there's some important overlap. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Paul and the Resurrection of Israel is very intriguing. Some of the finer exegetical points are incorrect (in my estimation), but there are many points of agreement and intrigue. His primary point about the eschatological Israel in Paul’s thought is fascinating and something I need to chew more on. I would suggest reading his Identity of Israel as well for a book-level treatment of the difference between Israelites and Jews. Sloan is already off the mark, but he has a lot of good insights as well. He, like Staples, is really interesting since he’s not completely with the radical new perspective (Paul/Jesus within Judaism) but is close.
