A reviewer called our protagonist the most despicable they’d ever encountered. Holding up the mirror, as social satire demands, I kept waiting for our girl to drop the act or be struck by life-altering epiphany. At minimum, to thaw into a life with less pretense. But we know, there’s no get-out-of-jail-free card for cataclysmic dysfunction much less abject moral failure. Which one do you think this is?

I’m inching along but brimming with anticipation, wishing I had more time to read today.
