Very kind. Quiet. Philosophical. Phillips is really in his own headspace on this one. It’s fun being there with him. I found the book honest. Reading it felt as if we were friends. He mostly quotes himself or his poems, but the book still offers a view of his thinking. I would not consider this so much a book on poetics as a meditation:)
