I didn’t know much about this book other than the brief summary before starting to read, but this is gut wrenching in a very good way. Nemonte has flipped the classical story of big oil, missionary trips, and expanding industrialization to the perspective that matters most: the people being targeted. I love that she emphasizes women’s intuition and blends modern with cultural elements.
