Vichy France Martinique, Robert’s Time, brought whiteness, oppression, plantation mentality back to the forefront of power on the island. Fanon, still believing in a true, anti-racist France, elected to go fight the root of the evil in North Africa: the Nazis.

Finished the prologue. Looking forward to learning more about this guy.
Asked my mom if she’d read The Wretched of the Earth, by Fanon. She said no but she’d read The Grapes of Wrath. I haven’t read Wretched either but I’m familiar with Grapes. Given the context of what I’ve read about Fanon, I don’t think she actually knows what Wretched is about.
