I have no words... The average age of the militia men was like 21?? Are you kidding?? There were mentioned some militia men that were 15 years old?? And also the conditions they were fighting. Cold stone mountain rage with no food, no clothes, no ammos, old rusty guns that were often jammed. Not even a little warmth. And the thought of Orwell himself almost dying several times is scary.
