Something about VE Schwab's books just never fully hits. It hits, but it's always missing something and I'm never sure what. It just shows in the way that the books aren't ones that I would actively seek whenever I have a free moment.
I don't like the sudden character change that happened chapters ago with Victor. I understand that you can't die and come back whole but they kept saying it was a NDE not actual death..

The goal was to finish this before the end of January but it's already the 31st. Unless I finish it tomorrow which I highly doubt I will.
Something about the writing of this book felt clumsy, as if the author forgot to pay attention to the details. like at the beginning, there were gunshots and screaming and subhan allah no one ever came to the rescue. This is just off the top of my head, there are other stuff.
