I'm not sure you'll rate that one 5 stars... It's more my style book than yours.
We will see lol. I haven't read anything by SBD that I haven't loved, so now I'm intrigued!
I really liked the first one, enough that I might read the Spellshop books just so I can experience her writing again.
I don't know if you'd like them tbh. They are very low stakes and cute compared to what I know you like. I mean, the first book's plot is basically just a librarian who escapes an empire and is on the run, so she hides out and creates a life making and selling special jam at a cottage with a sentient plant. With a light romance subplot. No murder or blood lololol
