For the content, it's implied that two characters--the villain and another evil character--were doing spice before the scene started (there were no details other than them being in the room together and the guy standing up out of bed though and it's clearly said that's wrong and that those characters are immoral and evil), a woman tries to tempt someone to also do that in book one but he resists, spice is mentioned but not by the actual word a few times, there's mentions of prostitutes, there's some violence and fighting, characters are tortured for a few scenes because they're Christians, a few characters die as martyrs and a few characters are killed, there's some romance that's clean and all they do is kiss a few times, Christianity is illegal and almost everyone is forced to worship a fake god that is kind of similar to satan but Christianity obviously ends up winning, and I think that's it
