This book was an incredible story of love for a family without shared blood, bravery, and sacrifice. As I reflected over the details and sad experiences, I couldn’t help but relate it to modern society’s events.

I left wondering if those of us who sit idly by are just as guilty as those carrying out terrible acts against our neighbors. I will carry this weight and question as result.
