I have three days to finish this book before I have to give it back to my cousin who loaned me it.
But you underestimate my speed reading power when I get into a good book. And boy oh boy is this a good book already and I’m only three chapters in.
Lieutenant Colonel Hupfer is an absolute legend. I want to be in his class.
And Hercules’ internal snark is great.
And ALL THE LITTLE SYMBOLISM IS AMAZING.

You know those little “reflections” that he’s supposed to do just to update his teacher on his progress for school??? Well I’ve almost cried for the last two ones.

The ugly cat pack is out for blood and tiny screaming animals and haunting Herc’s property as revenge.

Bro really just got his school in trouble and himself kinda charged with fraud for spray painting an entire tree and causing a whole lot of tourists and the police to come see it.
But it’s worth it to have Lieutenant Colonel Hupfer check to make sure no one’s listening and then go “I think even the classical bearer of your name would be impressed… keep your heads down for the rest of the week”
