One of the things I liked about Jae's - Shaken to the Core was how I was able to keep track of how far away I was from the disaster in the book. This one here, this book here, seems determined to be drifting somewhat vague like. Though there were a few hints here and there like - 'a lot hotter for April than normal' - though here I know exactly when we are - July 4 1900 - 2 months from the disaster struck the island

The two women sure seem super eager to let everyone see them cavorting with each other. Least ways, that's as it seems. What with both openly being near each other - including in disreputable places like the saloon. Where such people that know Adam frequent - and Rachel did just spend the last month recovering from a beating from Adam.

Does a book remain in, or move out of 'young adult' or 'new adult' if the people involved never had a teenagehood? One married at 14 and has just turned 18; other ran away from home at the age of 15, and is now around 23 ('twenty-three years old at the end of this month.')
Yet I do not think of this as a young adult or a new adult book.
