I mean I don’t think it was supposed to be a swoony romance. I think the romance was supposed to be weird and quick and not that romantic. I believe society has distorted what Romeo and Juliet is really about and watered it down to just two young star crossed lovers, but there’s a whole lot of other themes about the human condition weaved into it. Though I could go into a whole rant about this and write a long paper about this book, but that’s just my interpretation of it 😅

Yeah true I think I was expecting much more than I got from it, and was kinda grossed out by some of it, so I wasn't able to actually appreciate the actually good parts that I'm sure were there (hence my two star rating...) plus reading books for school always ruins them for me

no cuz so far it's actual so peak like yes i don't understand half these words but it's so beautiful ugh
